‘अनेनहिसंवर्धितमितरेचिकित्सन्ति’ Kaumarbhritya is a specialized branch within ayurveda and is one of the leading Department of Institute of Ayurved Studies and Research, Shri Krishna Ayush University. The department provides many facilities like OPD, IPD, Swarnprashana, Bala Panchakarma, etc. The department believes in curative as well as preventive and promotive aspects of health. The department primarily applies Ayurvedic principles to address common pediatric concerns such as growth and development, nutrition, and immunity. Herbal formulations, dietary recommendations, and lifestyle modifications are integral components of the Kaumarbhritya approach to nurturing a child’s health. The department is rendering services in multiple dimensions with hospitals, academics, research, and community services. The department is enriched with separate rooms for faculties, and one seminar cum tutorial room for research scholars. The department has an equipped reference library. The department is developing competency-based teaching tools in post-graduate/ doctoral education about pediatrics to demonstrate the high standard of education in academics as well as research. The scholars are trained clinically by their active involvement in OPD, IPD, case presentations, and critical clinical discussions. The department regularly organizes activities like departmental seminars, journal club meetings, and presentations. The department organizes awareness programs and activities like Breastfeeding Week, Disability Day, De-Worming Day celebration, etc. Swarnprashana camp is organized at every Pushya Nakshatra every month. The department is running M.D. and Ph.D. courses. Department is enriched with 5 intake capacity of MD Scholars per year and various research work are going on by MD Scholarsand at present 15 MD scholars are currently pursuing their MD.
